New BMW X5 Launched In India, Gets Major Updates

BMW India: BMW has launched the new X5 in India. The facelifted BMW X5 comes with major changes and tech upgrades. And it is more costly than before. The new BMW X5 has been launched at an introductory price of Rs 93.90 lakh, ex-showroom. BMW has also introduced the new M Sport variant of the new X5. The X5 is BMW’s highest-selling SUV in the world.

New BMW X5 Facelift

The new facelifted BMW X5 is gorgeous and powerful than before. However, it’s the BMW X5 M Sport variant that stands out as the one of the best luxury cars with performance engine. The new BMW X5 gets a mil-hybrid system in petrol and diesel options.

New BMW X5 Exterior Design

The new BMW X5 facelift features a new reprofiled front bumper. The front bumper gets illuminated grille option. But the illuminated grille option is available with the M Sport 40i petrol variant only. There are no major visible changes but the new BMW X5 gets new front and rear lights. It now comes with BMW’s new signature LED daytime running lights and new redesigned tail lights. The new X5 gets 21-inch alloy wheels as standard.

New BMW X5 Interior Design

Like all the BMW models, the new BMW X5 gets BMW’s signature infotainment screen. It comes equipped with the 14.9-inch infotainment system which is operated through BMW’s iDrive 8 system. For the features part, the new X5 gets a 360-degree camera, panoramic sunroof, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, heated and ventilated seats, ambient lighting, Harmon Kardon music system, cruise control, parking assist, front and rear sensors, six airbags, dynamic stability control, ADAS suite, remote parking and attentiveness assist among others.

New BMW X5 Engine And Powertrain

The new BMW X5 facelift gets the same engine as the outgoing model. It continues to be powered by a 48V mild-hybrid system. It gets a 3.0-litre straight six petrol engine that makes 381 of horsepower and 520 Nm of torque. The new X5 can sprint from 0 to 100 in a claimed 5.4 seconds. It is joined with a eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The new BMW X5 continues to rival the likes of Mercedes Benz GLE, Lexus RX, Volvo XC90, Land Rover Discovery, and Range Rover Velar.
